Description
Chestnut Oak is a very drought tolerant species for high ground and xeric landscaping conditions. Beautiful yellow fall foliage, this oak is sometimes planted as an ornamental. Bountiful loads of acorns are a favorite of deer and bear for their moderate tannin level. This species makes a great shade tree with its spreading canopy.
