Description Ilex cassine has long oval leaves to 4" long with bright red berries and smooth gray bark.This holly prefers to grow in moist to wet soils with partial shade and is tolerant of brackish water, salt spray; and can be grown in low light swampy areas. Mature size is approximately 15'High x 20'Wide Females will have red fruit, although there is a yellow fruited form that we offer from time to time named N3 'Croceus' The evergreen foliage and bright berries are used for Christmas decorations in the Deep South.
