Description
Variety 'Ice Ballet' is a white flowering form and like all other Asclepias is a favorite nectar source for butterflies, a host plant for the Monarch Butterfly. The flowers bloom over a long period. Here in (zone 7) it starts around May 15th and continues through August. It does best in rich moist soils with full sun exposure . It will tolerate much wetter conditions than the species tuberosa. Its deep fleshy roots allows it to survive drought periods. It reaches a height at maturity of 4'High x 3'Wide under ideal conditions. This is a long live perennial that requires very little care and will provide flowers year after year and is a long lived species.
