Description
This a selected form of the wild species for its pink flowers which are more intense in color, even more so than the 'May's Pink'. This small deciduous tree reaches 20'High x 15'Wide with 4-7" long pubescent leaves and showy flowers in June and July up to a foot in diameter. The large pink bracts much like a poinsettia. It is very fast growing in light shade to full sun but it must have good moist well drained soils to grow well.
