The darkest green needles cover this beautiful Pinus species of the rich bottom lands of the Deep South. It's speed of growth and thick dark green needles are making them popular landscape trees. They can be planted to make a thick evergreen border. Spruce pine is more tolerant of moist soils than many other pines. The Spruce Pine works great as a specimen tree in the landscape, timber or can be trimmed and used for Christmas trees.
