Description
This is a native deciduous conifer not used to its full potential in landscapes today. Being one of two of our native deciduous conifers it loves saturated wet or well-drained soil in full sun. It has reddish brown fall foliage along with cones that look like rusty brown ping pong balds. It needles are held close suppressed to the petiole and are ascending hence its species name. It is not as common as the Bald Cypress as a landscape tree in gardens. Pond Cypress is a very fast growing tree and will mature to 90'High x 30'Wide and has a bizarre look with the erect needles.
