Description This medium to small oak grows in loose soils that are well-drained and will tolerate clay soil as long as it is well drained. Arkansas oak is quite tolerant of shade and and has been known to produce acorns even in the driest years which makes it a wonderful choice for wildlife food. It develops into a shade tree to 40' High, small for an oak and is less common in the trade.
